Tea Varieties

| Buddha Tea |
Caffeine-free herbal tea made from fermented Hydrangea. Naturally sweet and floral tea as a dessert tea. Traditionally consumed during ceremonies celebrating Buddha's birthday.

| Hokkaido Sobacha (Buckwheat tea) |
Buckwheat tea is caffeine-free, and naturally contains vitamin Bs, fiber and flavonoids.
Health benefits include regulate digestive health; improves circulation and boost immunity.

| Hojicha |
Tea leaves are roasted under intense temperature to produce tea that is vibrant golden brown in colour with a nutty smoky flavour.

| Fukamushi Sencha |
Japanese green tea that has been steamed for a longer period of time to provide tea that is deeper in colour with more mellow less astringent taste.

| Genmaicha |
Traditional Japanaese green tea with toasted brown rice. Known for its low caffeine content, it is widely consumed in Japan as a daily beverage. Matcha has been added to provide extra aroma, flavour and health benefits.

| Gyokuro |
Grown in a semi-shaded environment, Gyokuro is known for its deep, rich, sweet aromatic flavours.

| Hishicha Ninja Tea |
Roasted and ground seeds of the water plant "hishi" (water chestnut/caltrop) from Lake Inawashiro in Fukushima. Savoury flavour enhances salty flavours of a dish. Dried hishi (makibishi) is commonly used as a defence weapon by Ninja!

Simply Native works directly with tea producers and artisans to create and curate pieces that sit outside mass production — from small-batch teas and matcha to ceramics developed exclusively for us.

Founder Yukino, trained in the Urasenke school of tea, spent over four years developing our first ceremonial blend. Grounded in the art of blending, it is designed for depth, balance, and clarity, equally suited to drinking straight or as a latte.

Each tea and object is shaped through collaboration with artisans in Japan. Our collection evolves through seasonal releases, with limited works produced in close partnership with makers. Nothing is incidental, each piece reflects material, timing, and long-term relationships.
