Kurosengoku Black Bean Tea

Brews a deep violet. Soft, roasted, naturally sweet.

This is a black soybean tea from Kyoto, made using Kurosengoku 黒千石 - a rare variety that naturally gives that purple colour.

At Shuka Kyoto, Kondo-san comes from an ama-nattō family, so working with beans is kind of second nature. You can feel that in how clean and considered this is.

Most black bean teas are heavier.
This one is lighter, clearer—almost floral.

We first tried it during his 種菓 course in Kyoto.
It stayed with us.
