Matcha and hojicha selected from long-established tea house that go well with Wasanbon. Finished as a Koicha to have a rich flavour, so that you can enjoy the unique aroma and taste of matcha and hojicha.

At HIYORI FACTORY, each Higashi is carefully crafted using hand-carved wooden moulds and premium, handmade Wasanbon sugar from Awa. Pressed one by one, these delicate sweets reflect the artistry and quiet beauty of Japanese confectionery tradition.

Wasanbon’s gentle, refined sweetness creates an elegant flavour that melts effortlessly on the palate - light, smooth, and never overpowering. The fine texture and subtle taste are qualities only true Wasanbon can achieve.

Designed to elevate everyday moments, our Higashi pairs beautifully with matcha, tea, or coffee.

ABOUT THE MAKER

Hiyori Wasanbon | 日和制作所 | Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture

Produced in eastern Shikoku for over 200 years, Wasanbon is known for its delicate sweetness and fine texture. It has long been enjoyed as part of Japanese tea culture and is often served alongside matcha in tea ceremony.

In a small workshop in Takamatsu, each piece of Wasanbon is carefully shaped by hand using traditional hand-carved wooden moulds. Through this meticulous process, the artisans preserve the warmth, delicacy, and character that only handmade work can carry. Their hope is to bring small moments of delight and quiet beauty into everyday life.
