Urushi or Japanese natural lacquer, is one of the most iconic and recognisable styles from Japan. This is a bonbonnière, handmade by Isuke, a long established urushi company in Kyoto for more than 180 years.

Urushi lacquerware has been treasured in Japan since as early as 9,000 BC, reflecting a tradition that spans millennia.
