Nawap's Natural Tea Towels are exceptionally absorbent and quick to dry. They have four layers of material which makes them ideal for drying. The binchotan charcoal and persimmon variations are also naturally anti-odor. Yukino, the owner of Simply Native, met Maruyama-san, the owner of Nawrap in Brooklyn, USA, in 2014 when they both visited NY NOW, the world's largest gift exhibition. Since then, Yukino has always wanted to stock his beautiful dishcloths and towels in the Simply Native store. The Nawrap collection is carefully handcrafted by local artisans in Nara who started making mosquito nets in 1930. Feel the quality in your everyday life.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Maruyama Seni Sangyo | 丸山繊維産業 | Tenri, Nara Prefecture
For centuries, Nara has been known for kaya — traditional mosquito net fabric — a craft that became deeply rooted in the region through cotton and textile production.
As lifestyles changed, mosquito nets gradually disappeared from everyday homes and the industry rapidly declined. Today, Maruyama remains the last company in Nara capable of carrying out integrated production of kaya fabric — from dyeing and weaving through to finished products. By reimagining this heritage material for contemporary life, they continue to preserve a tradition while creating new possibilities for the future.
