This design is inspired by the plants of Japan’s four distinct seasons - spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
By using slip clay (decorative clay), it features an earthy texture that highlights each seasonal motif. The raised patterns create a sense of depth and elegance, giving the piece a refined, luxurious feel.
In Japan, these are often used as small side plates (mamezara), but they also work beautifully as incense plates when paired with an incense holder.
