First urushi-ware was used in 9,000 B.C. Introducing the newly designed natural wooden 'KOROMO' series, handmade from Isuke Shoten in Kyoto with more than 180 years of history. The 'KOROMO' series, meaning a dress, is made of organic wood grains and textures, a natural urushi lacquer and a ‘Mackie’ lacquer painting all in the one cup. By making full use of the wood processing technology "Rokuro grind", the product is surprisingly light. Also, due to the nature of wood & natural ‘urushi’ lacquer, the cup has low thermal conductivity. Designed by Satoshi Umeno ‘Makie’ finish.
