Iyoshi Cola is a modern craft cola rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and time-honoured craftsmanship.

Created by Cola Kobayashi, founder of Ira Cola and grandson of Chinese medicine craftsman Ryotaro Ito, this cola is built on techniques and sensibilities passed down through generations. Drawing from an original cola recipe developed over 100 years ago, Iyoshi Cola is made with an abundance of spices, citrus fruits, herbal botanicals, and rare cola seeds.

Each can carries a deep, layered aroma—spice-forward, complex, and warming—achieved through careful formulation and relentless refinement. Along the way, brewers, curry specialists, and craftsmen from diverse disciplines lent their expertise, helping bring this ambitious canned cola to life.

Designed to accompany life’s quiet pleasures, Iyoshi Cola is equally at home outdoors, during a film, after a bath, or as a refreshing finish to a sauna session. It’s a cola that doesn’t overpower, but gently elevates the moment.

Before drinking, turn the can upside down for 10 seconds—an intentional ritual to awaken the spices and complete the experience.

As the cola rests in the can, the spices continue to mature, allowing you to enjoy subtle changes in flavour over time—after one month, two months, or more.

Founder, Ira Cola

Cola Kobayashi is the driving force behind Iyoshi Cola. As the grandson of renowned Chinese medicine craftsman Ryotaro Ito, Kobayashi grew up surrounded by the philosophy of herbal balance, patience, and respect for raw ingredients. Rather than replicating tradition outright, he reinterprets it—applying medicinal techniques to contemporary craft beverages.

Iyoshi Cola reflects this lineage: a thoughtful fusion of old-world herbal knowledge and modern craft sensibility, bottled (and canned) for today’s rhythms while remaining deeply connected to its origins.
