To bring fragrance together.
An intimate, hands-on workshop exploring the art of Japanese incense.
Fragrance has long held a special place in Japanese culture - not simply something to smell, but something to listen to, remember and experience.
In this workshop, you will be introduced to a selection of traditional incense materials, from fragrant woods and spices to aromatic herbs. Learn how individual ingredients carry their own character, and how they transform when brought together.
You will then create your own incense blend by grinding, mixing and shaping the materials by hand, forming them into small incense cones to take home.
This is an invitation to slow down and follow fragrance from its raw materials to its final form, choosing, blending, making and, burning something created by your own hands.
Knowledge Required
This is a beginner-friendly workshop.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Simply Native Original | Sourced Across Japan
Simply Native works directly with tea producers and artisans to create and curate pieces that sit outside mass production — from small-batch teas and matcha to ceramics developed exclusively for us.
Founder Yukino, trained in the Urasenke school of tea, spent over four years developing our first ceremonial blend. Grounded in the art of blending, it is designed for depth, balance, and clarity, equally suited to drinking straight or as a latte.
Each tea and object is shaped through collaboration with artisans in Japan. Our collection evolves through seasonal releases, with limited works produced in close partnership with makers. Nothing is incidental, each piece reflects material, timing, and long-term relationships.
