Arita ceramics, also known as Arita yaki '有田焼', originated in the town of Arita in Saga Prefecture and gained popularity in Japan before being exported to Europe in the 17th century, where they were referred to as "Imari" ware.

Made from kaolin, a type of white clay mixed with other minerals, these ceramics are highly valued for their durability and craftsmanship. They are renowned for their intricate designs, often featuring vibrant patterns and images of nature like flowers, birds, and landscapes. Known for their translucency and ability to reflect light, Arita ceramics possess a unique and ethereal quality.

Today, they continue to be produced in Arita, representing one of Japan's most significant traditional crafts.
