We’re delighted to share a special collaboration
with our friend Wendy, from Waseian, who has crafted exclusive wagashi inspired by the season and the spirit of celebration.

Sakura Mochi
A traditional Japanese spring wagashi made with soft pink glutinous rice and sweet red bean paste, wrapped in a salty pickled cherry blossom leaf. This seasonal treat is enjoyed during Hinamatsuri and cherry blossom viewing.

Past Collaborations:

Shōgatsu Nerikiri
Ingredients: White bean & Red bean paste, food colouring

To welcome the new year, Waseian has also created a special Shōgatsu Nerikiri.
Nerikiri is a refined style of wagashi made from smooth white bean paste, carefully kneaded until it becomes a soft, sculptable dough. This allows artisans to shape delicate, expressive designs—often seasonal motifs.

For Toshi no Ichi, Waseian has shaped the nerikiri into Firework, Plum or Pine motif, symbols of longevity, resilience, and good fortune for the year ahead.

Tatsutagawa Kanten
Ingredients: Agar-based Jelly

Inspired by the ancient beauty of the Tatsutagawa River, this elegant kanten captures a scene that has moved poets for over a thousand years.

Think of clear, jewel-like layers - light shimmering through translucent jelly, evoking autumn maple leaves drifting gently across flowing water. It’s a quiet prayer for prosperity and an homage to the changing seasons, expressed through craftsmanship and subtle sweetness.
