These modern animal hariko figures offer a playful twist on traditional Japanese folk art. Hariko—handcrafted papier-mâché—has been part of Japan’s art culture for centuries, symbolising protection, good fortune, and celebration.

The production of hariko involves a mix of digital fabrication and traditional methods. The base of each figure is formed with 3D printing, then is hand-painted and layered with paper, resulting in a vibrant, one-of-a-kind piece.
