Hana-Kessho Porcelain Tiles

Hana-Kessho Porcelain Tiles
In Japanese, “hana” means flower and “kessho” means crystallisation. By dotting different minerals into the glaze followed by careful firing, a stunning flower crystallisation affect is created on a ceramic surface. These patterns change with the season and other conditions present at the place and time of creation.

Kumagai has been a leading company offering Kiyomizu-yaki and Kyo-yaki (Kyoto pottery) including hana-kessho pieces since 1935. Their latest collection “SURFACE” includes ceramics for wall decoration. These tiles feature the unique flower crystallisation technique. Kumagai is one of only two ceramic specialists offering this glazing effect in the world. You can create a truly one-of-a-kind feature wall with these premium porcelain tiles.
