The Sydney tea room "Waseian" project began through discussions with Wendy Lin, the owner and a Urasenke tea ceremony teacher. Waseian is an 8-tatami mat tea room created with the owner's desire to share the heart of tea with the people of Sydney.
Due to the shallow depth of the alcove, we chose the Black Copper Panel by Orii to add a sense of depth and spaciousness to the space. The carefully crafted copper panels enhance the serene atmosphere, blending traditional Japanese elements with a modern touch.
