A treasure-keeper from ancient times.
“Urushi” is Japanese natural lacquer which has been used as a coating material for tableware and architecture for over thousands of years. Urushi is collected from the saps of the urushi trees, and has durable and water-repellant properties suited for tableware or buildings.
Introducing this urushi treasure keeper, handmade from Isuke Shoten in Kyoto with more than 180 years of history.
It displays a modern and aesthetic colour pattern, while preserving the urushi’s original lustre.
